Shed Size Guide: Which Dimensions Fit Your Market?

Resin storage shed with size dimensions

Size is the second-most important product decision after material. Get the size mix right and your container sells through; get it wrong and you are paying warehouse rent on slow movers.

Compact sheds — roughly 4x3 ft to 6x4 ft — are the entry-level impulse buy. They fit small urban gardens, balconies and side yards, and they move fast through garden centers and online marketplaces. Margins are lower, but velocity makes up for it.

Mid-size sheds from 6x6 ft to 10x10 ft are the volume core for most markets. They store lawnmowers, bikes and general garden equipment, and they suit both DIY retail and trade sales. Most of our buyers' containers are dominated by this band.

Large storage buildings from 10x12 ft up to 12x19 ft serve commercial and farm demand — equipment storage, workshop space and retail overflow. They are higher-value orders, ideal for trade customers and project business.

A typical balanced container mixes one compact size, two mid sizes and one large size, adjusted for your region. Coastal and snow markets skew differently — share your market profile and we will help you build the size mix.
